Exercise should be fun and get you great results! That's what we do!

In my mid thirties, I started having chronic back problems and was seeing a chiropractor several times a month for only temporary relief.  I had heard Pilates was good for your back, so I thought I would give it a try.  With it’s focus on strengthening the core, Pilates completely cured my back problems.  Eventually my body went through a total transformation becoming longer and leaner, yet sculpted and defined.  I was so impressed with these results that I decided to become a Pilates instructor.  Over time I developed my own brand of Pilates called ToddPilates:  it’s a fun approach to Pilates that’s set to upbeat music; it includes strength, flexibility, and cardio elements and is open to all levels. In other words, it’s a little bit of everything, so you can get what you need, all in one class.  When you visit our studio and attend our classes, you’ll see that we all love Pilates and we can’t wait for you to get hooked too.

One of the greatest moments in life is realizing that two weeks ago your body couldn't do what it just did.

I enjoy being a weekend warrior when it comes to soccer.  Pilates is an ideal complement to any athlete who wants to improve his or her game.  When you come to my classes you will hear the enthusiasm in my voice as I try to push you to achieve your goals.  I demonstrate the classic Pilates exercise while throwing in some different, yet beneficial variations on the classics.  I employ the ToddPilates method by incorporating current alternate rock and club music into my Pilates routine

When I believe in something strongly, I follow through with it passionately.

Several years ago, I was struggling with chronic back issues.  After many visits to the chiropractor and physical therapist, I discovered that the physical therapy was simply a derivative of Pilates. So I started attending Pilates classes twice a week.  Within 10 classes, I found that my core strength improved and my back issues began to diminish. I eventually decided to help my co-workers with core strengthening and taught them Pilates during our lunch hours.

I have since become certified to teach Pilates and Barre. Teaching the ToddPilates method complements my passion for fitness and my love of music. I believe “if you can make the workout fun, then it will go by much quicker.”  Working out to music, exercising or moving to the rhythm of a song, seems so natural to me.  I observe our students daily and see that they too feel the connection to the music and it makes their 1 hour session go by quickly.

When I believe in something strongly, I follow through with it passionately.  Pilates and Barre make my heart sing; keep my brain focused; and make my body stronger. This feeds my youthful spirit. I’m hooked on ToddPilates Fitness!

I encourage students to break past limiting beliefs and see themselves as simultaneously powerful and loving, calm and strong.

Drawn to the practice of yoga as a path to deeper inner connection and personal transformation, I received my 200 hour vinyasa yoga certification in 2013. As a teacher, I aspire to hold space for others as they connect with their own wholeness and inner wisdom. I encourage students to break past limiting beliefs and see themselves as simultaneously powerful and loving, calm and strong. I enjoy incorporating essential oils, gentle meditation, pranayama, and pieces of philosophy into each class. And, though my classes are sometimes challenging, my natural style is nurturing and playful. I believe that kindness, inner connection, and intention are the most important parts of any yoga class, and if those are established, the rest will flow naturally.

I get to help people on a daily basis achieve their fitness goals.

In May 2011, I embarked on a journey to change my life through diet and fitness. Within six months I had shed over 30 pounds, went from a size 12 to a size 5 and had never felt better in my life. While I went through this transition, I tried several different workouts but I fell in love with Pilates. In October of 2013, I started attending classes at ToddPilates and was immediately attracted to the teaching style Todd had created. In March 2014, I was certified through Power Pilates and began teaching my own classes shortly after that. I love Pilates because it’s a total body workout with a strong focus on the core. It incorporates stretching, toning, cardio and not to mention all the routines are choreographed to music for an added element of fun. I would have to say though, the most rewarding thing about being a Pilates Instructor is that I get to help people on a daily basis achieve their fitness goals.

    • Doug Fisher

      Doug Fisher

Seeing and feeling the change in yourself through exercise that you love is an amazing journey of discovery.

Doug has been an avid fan of group fitness since college and started teaching aerobics back in the days of leg warmers and sweatbands! After moving to North Carolina in 2006 he discovered a passion for step aerobics (yes, he was late to the game) and decided to get his certification to teach step in 2012. Doug moved to Austin in 2013, started teaching at a local gym and received his Group Exercise certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. He was introduced to Pilates and barre at ToddPilates Fitness Studio by none other than Todd himself after having taken many yoga classes there. After consistently practicing Pilates for just 3 months Doug noticed how much more flexible he was and how it improved his yoga. He also realized that barre was strengthening his legs more than step aerobics and made teaching step a lot easier. Once Todd was able to convince him (and after co-teaching classes with him in 2014), Doug decided to get certified to teach Pilates and barre. In February of 2015 he got his Power Pilates certification and became an instructor at ToddPilates.
